Why Choose Kehillah Schechter Academy?
VALUES-BASED EDUCATION
Jewish values are at the core of everything we do. KSA provides our students with a strong foundation to become ethical, knowledgeable, self-confident young adults committed to the betterment of the Jewish, American, and global communities.
OUTSTANDING FACULTY
Our talented, passionate, long-tenured teachers are devoted to empowering students to seek knowledge with confidence and enthusiasm.
INTEGRATED GENERAL AND JUDAIC STUDIES CURRICULUM
KSA students experience an outstanding integrated general and Jewish studies curriculum that helps them develop into secure, well-rounded individuals. Our teachers incorporate Jewish precepts, rituals, language, literature, and history into the general studies program throughout each school day. In certain subjects, curriculum is specifically designed to provide education in Jewish topics while working on the skills necessary for all areas of study. Hebrew language is taught to every grade by specially trained teachers. The Hebrew teachers also incorporate general skills into their lessons. Our methodology promotes a love of learning, intellectual inquiry and critical thinking.
NATIONALLY ACCLAIMED SCIENCE AND MATH PROGRAM
Our inquiry-based math and science curriculum educates all students to think like scientists. It was created by Nitzan Resnick, PhD, Head of School who was formerly a visiting professor at Harvard Medical School and an associate professor at Technion-Israel Institute of Technology.
CHILD-CENTERED APPROACH
Children of the same age or grade level may vary widely in terms of learning style, proficiency and aptitude. Our students are taught in a manner that best complements their personal needs to insure that each and every one is able to reach his or her fullest potential. This means that we support the enrichment needs of advanced students along with the special needs of those with learning disabilities as well as every other child across the spectrum.
SPIRITUALLY WELCOMING COMMUNITY
KSA is a richly diverse, spiritual community of families from over 30 communities in Massachusetts and Rhode Island who are seeking an education for their children in an inclusive environment that reflects differences in religious observance, while embracing the tenets and traditions of a Conservative Jewish life. In fact, 34% of our families identify themselves as Conservative, 10% as Reform, 18% as Orthodox, 26% belong to a Minyan, Havurah, or Independent congregation, and 12% are unaffiliated.
JEWISH CONTINUITY
A day school education is the most strongly proven means to ensure Jewish continuity. At KSA, being Jewish is an integral part of each child's identity and experience.
