Annual CampaignA K-8 independent Jewish day school, Kehillah Schechter Academy relies on a variety of fundraising initiatives to raise the funds needed to balance our operating spending and our revenue. Our annual campaign is an important part of these initiatives.
During the annual campaign campaign, which begins in July and continues throughout the school year, we approach every family, alumni family and grandparent, as well as community members and local businesses and ask them to join one of our Giving Societies, named after the 12 Tribes of Israel, in support of our annual campaign. These tax deductible contributions directly sustain school operations. Aside from tuition, the annual campaign typically accounts for the vast majority of funds we raise each year. Funds raised toward the Annual Campaign are used for the school year in which they are raised. You will be contacted by annual campaign solicitors, who are volunteers working on behalf of our school, to meet and discuss our school and the annual campaign and your support for it. Please welcome these solicitors when they call and respond generously with a gift that is meaningful to you. You may support the annual campaign by either making a general donation to the campaign, and/or by soliciting support from businesses or family members or friends to make a donation on their behalf. All those who donate to the campaign will receive recognition in our annual tribute journal as well as on the school website. |

Chaijinks
Our annual gala event is typically called “Chaijinks,” which is a proprietary word that means joyful event. Typically, Chaijinks involves the honoring of a member or members within and outside our community. This year, the gala event will be celebrated in the spring on May 5, 2013.
The event raises money toward our Annual Fund goal through two sources:
You can help by encouraging parents, alumni families, grandparents, community members and businesses to make donations and place tribute messages in a special tribute journal that will be prepared for the event. Messages/ads may be focused on the honorees, the school and its leaders, students, teachers and loved ones, etc. All annual gifts received to date are recognized within the tribute journal.
